Ten years has passed since the very first time
I published the Shaggy Mo name as mine
On the top of an album so simple, so folk
A moment of darkness with a glimmer of hope
Just live, on tape
A guitar and a friend
Emotion in a room
A voice at its end
It felt like a return to my roots
So pure and uncluttered
Unlike many of my pursuits
That lead down the path of too busy lives
A studio moment so still yet alive
But ten years has passed
And I’m back at it again
A new voice
A new sound
But the same old soul
With a pile of records and a story half told
So it’s here for the taking if you’d like to hear
A fresh coat of paint for an album so dear
To my heart and mind
Underneath the Water’s Weight
In the medium intended for the very first time
